What kind of repairs can be made to a photograph? Scratches, discoloration, folds, and creases, fading, etc. can usually be successfully repaired. Some things that cannot be repaired would be if part of a persons face is missing, or large detailed areas are missing. Blurry photos that are out of focus can be helped a little, but not much. Most photos can be repaired, or at least improved. back to the top How are photographs repaired? The original photograph is scanned and the digital file brought into the computer. All the work is done on the digital file. The original photograph is not harmed or altered in any way, and is returned to you. Using Adobe Photoshop, a high end, professional image manipulation program the picture is repaired and a print is made from the digital file. back to the top How should I send my photos in to you? The safest way to send in your photo is to put the photo beween two pieces of cardboard, and use a mailing envelope that is durable. Send it by regular mail, but make sure you insure it. If you have access to a scanner you can scan the photo yourself and send me the digital file. For the best results scan the photo at a high resolution, and save it in tif format. back to the top Can I order additional prints at a later date? Yes, we keep a copy of the digital file here and at any time you can order additional prints. back to the top What sizes of prints can I order? All orders come with an a print up to an 8X10. Not all orders should be printed at 8X10. Small originals will not look good at the larger sizes. Enlarging a small photo more than about twice the size will result in a serious loss of quality. Collages, because they are made up of several smaller photos, can be output at a larger size. back to the top Is there a guarantee? Of course all the work we do is guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with the work we will refund your money, no questions asked. back to the top How long will the work take? Most orders can be completed in about a week. If it will take longer that that we will contact you. back to the top What type of payment is accepted? A check or money order is requiered at the time of the order for photo repair and collages. For books on CD or web sites a deposit is requiered, with the balance due upon completion of the project. back to the top Why would I want a Family Hisory CD rather than have books printed for my family? Book publishing is very expensive, especially if the quantity of books is small. Those costs can be considerably less when you take away the actual printing and binding of a book. Also the cost of updating a book would be enourmous compared to updating the digital files for a book on CD. back to the top What can be included on the CD?Histories, photographs, GEDCOM's, poems, stories, letters, etc. back to the top How can I view the CD if I don't have the internet? The information on the CD is in a web page format. That means that any browser such as Internet Explorer, or Netscape can open it. You do not have to have access to the internet to use it. Internet Explorer comes with the windows software from Microsoft. Both Internet Explorer and Netscape are free. If you don't have one of these programs on your computer, you can have a friend or family member with internet access download it for you and install it on your computer. back to the top |
